Beauty Insider: Neutrogena Shine Control Collection

Neutrogena Shine Control Collection

It never fails…only an hour or two after putting on my foundation, my face tends to look and feel a little oily. Then after a few more hours, forget it…it’s bad. I found myself buying those blotting tissues or always trying to mask the oiliness with my powder.

I have combination skin with an oily T-Zone (forehead, nose, and chin) by-the-way.

Then Neutrogena sent me their new Shine Control Collection! I couldn’t wait to use it!

Neutrogena claims “it is infused with skincare benefits, does not cause dryness and leaves face matte and moisturized. Formulated with exclusive Rice Protein Technology, the three new innovations (liquid makeup, universal primer and pressed powder) are clinically proven to provide eight hours of shine control after absorbing flawlessly and quickly into skin.   Using rice protein, as opposed to clay particles which are more slow-acting in soaking up excess oil, the Shine Control technology acts as “micro sponges” to continuously absorb oil and keep skin shine-free, while providing natural, fresh coverage.  In fact, 86% of women who tried it reported shine-free skin all day!

I first applied a light layer of Neutrogena’s Oil-Free Moisture for Combination Skin ($9.99) moisturizer, then their Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector ($11.99) in Medium under my eyes. Then I applied the Shine Control Primer ($12.99). After, with a brush, I used the Shine Control Liquid Makeup ($12.99) in Nude with a light brushing of the Shine Control Powder ($11.99) in Invisible.

As you can see in picture below, I think it did a pretty good job of shine control and coverage . I didn’t do the eight hours, instead I did six at an evening baseball game. I didn’t use the powder or do any blotting the entire time.  Yes, there is a little tiny bit of shine, but I think it would have been more matte if I didn’t apply the moisturizer. And compared to how my skin normally gets, this is awesome! It never once felt heavy on my skin either.

Neutrogena Shine Control Collection is available now nationwide at food, drug and mass merchandisers.

Disclosure: This product was provided by Neutrogena for review purposes only. The above is my true and honest opinion. I was NOT paid for this post.
