Thinking of Starting Another Blog?

It’s no secret…I’m a blogger. I love the entire idea and concept of the blog. It’s all about sharing, no matter the topic. And if you stay true to your niche and yourself, great and amazing things can come out of it.

Yes, there are negative sides to blogging, just like anything else. Nothing is perfect. We’ve seen the haters, the trolls, the bad seeds, and more. But, that won’t stop us from creating blog after blog. That brings up these questions…

Can you be addicted to blogging? Or are we just passionate about it?

This is something I’ve contemplated for a while. I’m not even going to begin to tell you how many blogs I’ve started and are now dead. And I know most of you are probably nodding your heads along with me right now and know exactly what I’m writing about.

There were times when I would lay down at night and have idea after idea racing through my head. Or would be in line at the grocery store and immediately think “that would make a great blog!”

This brings me to the fact that I was actually considering starting a third blog! Even after all of my other failed blogs, I thought about it long and hard. And after a lot of thought (and talking to), I’ve decided not to do it. I guess I’m not addicted after all.

I am passionate about sharing though and that is what is going to keep me working hard on the blogs I own today and not wandering off into another one. I’ll just continue to write about that topic on my current site.

Besides, the definition for “addiction” is kind of harsh.

ad·dic·tion [uh-dik-shuh n]: the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.

Yeahhhhhhhhhh…I don’t think that’s me.

Today, I read a great post titled “One Blog and Many Topics, or Many Blogs with One Topic?” Take a second to read it and let it help you decide if starting another blog is for you (don’t mind all the affiliate/making money chatter on that blog).
